Not just door to door anymore

Ring, ring. Or, in my case, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz.

I answered my cell phone, wondering who would be calling me at work from the (814) area code (where we used to live in State College), and a woman with a soft voice answered, "I'm so glad you're at home today. You don't know me, but I'm a volunteer, and I'd like to share some Bible verses with you today."

Wait, what?

As kindly as I could I said, "No thank-you, I'm an atheist," and hung up.

I googled the phone number to find out it is owned by the Jehovah's Witnesses (see reverse phone lookup here). So, apparently they're not going door-to-door anymore, now they're calling. Awesome.

How did they get my cell phone number? And why would they think I want to listen to fairy tales while I'm at work? Or, for that matter, from a stranger at any time of day? It's so intrusive, and presumptuous, and downright rude.
