It makes me sick to my stomach

I literally feel sick when I see comments like this (from a friend on facebook):

"AMEN.......the sweet INFANT JESUS ,,,NAILED AND SUFFERED FOR US ALL..NOW THAT IS LOVE AND THE PERFECT PLAN OF THE FATHER...WHO WANTS US ALL IN HEAVEN WITH HIM......."

And it nearly brings me to tears when I hear the "Christmas" songs wondering whether the sweet baby knew he was born to die. Sure the melody is pretty, but the words? Unfeeling, insensitive, and brutal.

These kind of thoughts are sick and demented. In any other context, discussing a child's impending death is horrifying at best, and should be cause for arrest or at least a thorough mental health review.

This holiday season I will be hugging my sweet baby girl, dreaming of her future, and doing my best to be a caring and supportive mother. I'll also probably get a little teary listening to the song below (while I tune out the appalling chants for a sweet baby's death):
